About Psychotherapy & Counselling
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist, like myself listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues. Counselling is a working partnership between the client and the counsellor. The counsellor must gain the clients trust and create a safe environment in which the client feels as ease and in trust to talk confidentially about the issues that are bringing them to counselling.
Having trained and qualified as an Integrative counsellor, I am able to draw on my knowledge and experience of various counselling theories in order to find the most appropriate and fitting way of working with you. My aim is to give you a safe and confidential space, to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. I believe you as the client are the expert in your life, not I. And therefore the foundation of my approach is a humanist framework, more specifically the person centred approach. By using this as my foundation approach, keying in on different approaches when needed, I aim to gain an understanding of your life from your perspective, not mine. By doing this I hope to be able to support you whilst you explore your emotions, understand them and process them. Additionally, guide you to through the sessions so ascertain a happier, healthier and more sustainable way to be.
